Innovation Ideas
On this page, you will find all promising project ideas labelled by SNETP that have not yet been turned into funded projects. This section aims to give these ideas visibility and support their further development, including helping to identify potential funding opportunities beyond Euratom programmes where relevant. Below, you can browse through the labelled ideas and consult their factsheets, which explain each idea’s objectives, expected impact, etc.
If you want to learn more about the SNETP label and the different projects, please explore our project portfolio.
And if your idea isn’t labelled yet, take advantage of the SNETP Community and have your project idea labelled now.
EAF-NEXUS
EAF-NEXUS is a 2-year project aiming to establish and demonstrate an evidence-based European framework for evaluating environmentally assisted fatigue (EAF) evidence, assessment methods, and future validation needs.
ESPRESSO-G4
The ESPRESSO-G4 (European Simulation Platform for Reactor Evaluation, Safety and Source-term Outputs for Gen4 reactors) project grand objective is to support Small Modular Reactors (SMR) deployment and safety demonstration in Europe in the short to mid-terms.
ESGIRE
The aim of the project is the determination of the stresses generated by the integration of Renewable in the Grid on Nuclear Power Plants, as the CE has a target of 42 % of power provided by the Renewable within 2030.
POEAM
The goal of POEAM is to improve the safety, reliability and long-term operation of Generation II and III light water reactors (LWR), including pressurised water reactors (PWRs) and boiling water reactors (BWRs), by assessing the environmentally-assisted cracking (EAC) resistance of structural components produced by additive manufacturing (AM).
PROTECTUS
PROTECTUS will provide the scientific basis and validated data and tools needed to assess the safety of ageing nuclear concrete structures under severe loads, for long-term operation beyond 60 or even 80 years.
MUSAM
The overall objective of MUSAM is to develop, validate and promote a harmonised, uncertainty-informed methodology for SA analysis and AM supporting the safe LTO of existing Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) and the safety assessment of forthcoming reactor technologies and research reactors.
MARGOT
Support the safety demonstration of European Small Modular Lead-cooled Fast Reactors (SMR-LFRs) through complementary safety pillars.
DELISA-LTO plus
The project will contribute to development and validation of advanced materials testing as well as of component and structural integrity assessment methods to quantify material degradation of VVER type of reactors.
