TANDEM project final conference
July 2
TANDEM partners are delighted to invite you to the project’s final conference, which will take place on 2 July 2025 in Brussels.
The three-year TANDEM project, which aims to develop methodologies and tools to facilitate the safe and efficient integration of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) into smart low-carbon hybrid energy systems, will come to an end in August 2025. This conference aims to present the main outcomes of the project.
Overview
The morning sessions will cover high-level policy messages on the role of SMRs in the EU energy system, and the conditions for their development in the EU. It will tackle issues related to skills, workforce needs, and stakeholder engagement. The TANDEM policy briefs will also be presented
The afternoon will focus on the technical results of the project, through the presentation of its modelling approach and techno-economics analyses. It will also cover the extension of the conventional safety approach to assess nuclear hybridisation and cogeneration.
This conference is open to all stakeholders interested in the integration of SMRs within hybrid energy systems and the production of heat, electricity and hydrogen. It has been designed to share the main outomes of the project and to engage in a constructive dialogue with EU & national policy makers and regulators, as well as representatives from the broader energy sector, energy intensive industries, R&D community and NGOs.
