The Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP) is pleased to announce the seventh edition of its 2025 Project Portfolio Webinar Series, taking place on 11 July 2025, from 13:00 to 14:00 CEST.
This upcoming session will focus on one of the core pillars of sustainable nuclear energy: the fuel cycle. Participants will receive a comprehensive overview of four Euratom-funded projects that are advancing technologies and strategies across the nuclear fuel cycle, from separation and transmutation to long-term education and training.
Project Spotlight:
- PATRICIA
(Partitioning And Transmuter Research Initiative in a Collaborative Innovation Action)
PATRICIA is working to enable sustainable nuclear energy by developing advanced partitioning techniques to separate americium from spent fuel and by investigating transmutation systems. The project also studies the behavior of americium-bearing fuel under irradiation to support improved waste management and more efficient use of resources. - TRANSPARANT
(Technological Research Action Necessary for Safe PARrtitioning And Nuclear Transmutation)
TRANSPARANT focuses on separating Americium (Am) from used nuclear fuel and understanding its behavior under irradiation. The project also includes dedicated activities in education and dissemination, helping build capacity for future generations of nuclear professionals. - PUMMA
(Plutonium Management for More Agility)
PUMMA explores different strategies for managing Plutonium (Pu) in Generation IV reactors, assessing how high plutonium content impacts the fuel cycle, reactor safety, and overall system performance. - ENEN2plus
(Building European Nuclear Competence through continuous Advanced and Structured Education and Training Actions)
ENEN2plus represents the largest and most integrative nuclear Education and Training (E&T) initiative in Europe to date. It brings together diverse stakeholders across the nuclear landscape, spanning power and non-power applications, to build a more connected and competent nuclear community.
