The HARPERS Work Package 4 workshop, taking place on 22 February – 10.00-12.00 CET, aims to establish a Circular Economy in radioactive waste management activities across Europe. The Circular Economy concept aims to minimize waste and make more efficient use of available resources through careful operations, design considerations, and recovering and regenerating products at the end of a facility’s lifecycle. The workshop will focus on identifying the most important conditions and opportunities for implementing Circular Economy principles in radioactive waste management. The outcome of the project will provide Member States, the European Commission, and other stakeholders with guidance on implementing Circular Economy principles and facilitating the safe reuse and recycling of materials. The workshop will prioritize needs and opportunities for Circular Economy considerations and define themes for deeper analysis in Phase 2.
