DESCRIPTION:The JRC/EHRO-N is organising\, in collaboration with Nucleareurope and European Nuclear Society\, a workshop on approaches for performing Nuclear Workforce Assessments (NWA). The European Human Resources Observatory in the Nuclear field (EHRO-N)\, is driven by organisations representing major stakeholders in the European Civil Nuclear Sector and managed by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC). It is active in the field of Knowledge Management of competences and human resources in the nuclear sector. \nThe workshop aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge concerning national approaches for assessing and monitoring that a sufficient pool of human resources and skills are available within the nuclear domain. The focus will be on the process of establishing a NWA\, rather than specific outcomes. DESCRIPTION:Workshop on National Nuclear Workforce Assessments\nApproaches for managing human resources and competences in the nuclear sector \nSpecific objective:\nThe objectives of the workshop is to share experiences\, knowledge and national approaches in relation to building and/or maintaining sufficient human resources and competences in the nuclear field (full cycle of power generation\, research\, medical\, safety authorities\, defence\, fusion).\nThe focus of the workshop will be on the processes of establishing a Nuclear Workforce Assessment (NWA)\, rather than specific results. \nIssues to be addressed include:\n– Overview of NWA process\, stakeholders to be involved\,\n– Mapping of existing workforce\n– Predicting future workforce needs\n– Mapping of supply to workforce (education and training\, mobility\, up- and reskilling)\n– Gap analysis between workforce needs and supply\n– Development and implementation of Skills strategy / Action plan\n– Lessons learnt and recommendations \nTarget audience:\nThis WS is targeting anyone interested in action supporting a sustained nuclear workforce.\n– Government officials and authorities\,\n– HR practitioners and experts\,\n– Industry and supply chain\,\n– All stakeholders involved in and supporting the establishment of national NWA’s \nMeeting details:\nHost: JRC\, EHRO-N in collaboration with Nucleareurope and the European Nuclear Society\nDate and time: 25th January 2024 – 9:00 to 17:00\nVenue: Albert Borschette\, Rue Froissart 36.
