DESCRIPTION:The H2020 PASTELS project will be hosting its Final Symposium on May 23rd-24th\, 2024 at EDF Lab Paris-Saclay\, France. The PASTELS Final Symposium\, as the final event of the project\, seeks to present the results of the project and its perspectives after 4 years of work.  \nPASTELS aims to significantly increase the knowledge in Europe on innovative passive systems\, particularly the Safety Condenser and the Containment Wall Condenser. The studies on these systems are carried out experimentally and numerically with different test facilities and computational tools from several European partners. In this context\, systems and CFD computational codes are tested to assess their ability to accurately model key phenomena such as natural circulation loops and condensation. DESCRIPTION:Following the early February 2024 launch of the European Industrial Alliance on SMRs\, the inaugural General Assembly is organised in Brussels on May 29-30\, 2024. As the proposed dates are not fully confirmed yet participants are advised not to arrange their travel accommodations. Please follow this page for updates and confirmation of the dates. \nAt this event\, the Secretariat of the Alliance will reveal the outcomes of the Membership Call\, including the types of the members\, the sectors represented\, and the geographical distribution. Additionally\, the structure of the Alliance will be detailed\, encompassing the Governing Board\, the Technical Working Groups\, and the Project-Based Working Groups. Alongside the endorsement of the Governing Board\, the proposal for the creation of Technical Working Groups and the topics to be covered will be introduced. The consolidated eligibility criteria for evaluating SMR projects potentially supported by the Alliance will also be presented and discussed. On the second day\, the objective\, activities and expected outcomes of each proposed Technical Working Group will be presented\, offering members the chance to select their preferred working group(s) for participation. \nFinally\, during the event\, high-level industry\, EU Member States\, and the European Commission representatives will share their perspectives on the current challenges and latest news associated with SMRs\, providing insights from both public and private viewpoints. \nThe event program will be detailed in due course and made available here. \nAttendance at the General Assembly is reserved exclusively for the members of the Alliance\, as specified in the Terms of Reference. DESCRIPTION:PWR Prague Conference is a biennial international forum organised by the Czech Nuclear Society (ENS Member Society). \n\n\nThe conference builds upon the longstanding tradition of VVER Conferences held in Prague since 2000. NPPs with VVER-type reactors definitely belong to the broader family of pressurized water reactors\, addressing similar questions in all areas of safe\, reliable\, long-term\, and economically competitive operation. \n\n\n\n\nThe conference brings together experts from nuclear power plants with PWR reactors (VVER-type including)\, designers\, representatives of regulatory\nbodies\, fuel suppliers\, equipment and components suppliers\, maintenance and other services providers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe two-day conference will take place in the Grand Hotel International in Prague\, offering a social evening on Tuesday\, 8th October\, and an optional excursion to ÚJV Řež on Thursday\, 10th October. \nFor all the authors\, the abstract submission deadline is set for 26th June. \nRegistrations will open soon.
