This innovative approach aims to deliver flexible\, reliable\, and low-carbon power\, making it a key enabler for the decarbonisation of CO₂-intensive industries.  \nWhat to expect from the webinar  \nThe session will provide a closer look at HEXANA’s mission and technological vision\, as well as its most recent achievements and partnerships. Attendees will also gain insights into the company’s current R&D priorities and the areas where collaboration is both possible and encouraged.  \nMeet the speakers  \nThe webinar will feature two leading voices from HEXANA:  \n\nPaul Gauthé\, Chief Technical Officer and co-founder of HEXANA. With over 15 years of experience at CEA working on sodium-cooled fast reactors such as Phénix and ASTRID\, Paul brings extensive expertise in both technical innovation and policy perspectives. \n\n\nNicolas Zweibaum\, Deputy CTO. DESCRIPTION:The SNETP Project Portfolio Webinar Series continues this autumn with its 8th edition\, highlighting two Euratom-funded projects that address crucial aspects of nuclear safety\, risks\, and accident management. \nThis session will feature: \nSOCRATES – Assessment of Liquid Source Term for Accidental Post Management Phase \nSOCRATES aims to fill critical knowledge gaps on the liquid source term during severe nuclear accidents. By developing absorbent materials capable of effectively trapping radionuclides\, the project seeks to reduce environmental releases in accident scenarios. In parallel\, advanced computer models are being designed to analyse liquid source term phenomena\, supporting industry\, safety authorities\, and the research community in strengthening nuclear power plant safety assessments. \nAMHYCO – Towards Enhanced Accident Management of the Hydrogen/CO Combustion Risk \nAMHYCO tackles the risks associated with hydrogen and carbon monoxide combustion during nuclear accidents\, which pose a threat to containment integrity. The project advances Severe Accident Management Guidelines (SAMGs) for both in-vessel and ex-vessel phases\, integrating results from numerical simulations and experimental studies. Additionally\, AMHYCO aims to improve the accuracy of predictive tools for explosion hazard evaluation\, providing practical solutions to further reduce accident risks.

The project aims to demonstrate that the GEMINI+ system can\, in addition to CO2 free process heat\, provide a global solution for the competitive and safe decarbonisation of industrial activities\, and confirm that this new form of poly-generation of various energy products does not negatively affect the safety of the combined plant.\nPIANOFORTE (Partnership for european research in radiation protection and detection of ionising radiation : towards a safer use and improved protection of the environment and human health) contributes to improving the protection of the public\, workers\, patients and the environment from environmental\, occupational and medical exposure to ionising radiation. By establishing a comprehensive pan-European scientific and technological foundation\, PIANOFORTE aims to support a robust radiological protection system and to develop consolidated\, science-based policy recommendations for decision-makers across diverse sectors that utilise ionising radiation\, both energy and non-energy related.\n\nThroughout the webinar\, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the SNETP community\, ask questions\, and share insights on the future of nuclear in Europe.
