SUMMARY:Machine-learning for the simulation of nuclear power plants and other complex systems - ASSAS Open Workshop
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite you to a workshop showcasing the latest advancements in data-driven surrogate models for nuclear severe accident codes\, as part of the ASSAS project. This event will feature presentations on machine learning applications in nuclear sciences and related fields\, with a focus on multiphysics and coupled codes. Join us for insightful discussions\, including a high-level round table\, and take advantage of this free opportunity to expand your knowledge and network with experts in the field. \nThe workshop will present the intermediate results of ASSAS concerning the development of data-driven surrogate models for nuclear severe accident codes\, as described in this paper . Besides\, more than half of the workshop will be dedicated to presentations from participants on related scientific topics. These include the use of machine-learning for simulation in nuclear sciences (neutronics\, thermal-hydraulics\, fluid dynamics\, mechanics…) and beyond (aeronautics\, weather forecasting\, geology\, mechanical engineering…). Applications to Multiphysics and coupled codes are of high interest.\nWe plan to close the workshop with a high-level round table gathering speakers from different backgrounds.\nThe registration and the call for abstracts will be opened in January. You can save the date now and share the information with your network.\nThe participation will be free.

SUMMARY:9th SNETP PROJECT PORTFOLIO WEBINAR – GEMINI 4.0\, PIANOFORTE
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 9th webinar in the SNETP 2025 Project Portfolio Series on 28 November\, from 13:00 – 14:00 CET\, where we will spotlight two key Euratom-funded projects. \n  \nThis session will provide updates on: \n\nGEMINI 4.0 (GEMINI For Zero Emission) aims to build a low-carbon future for industry based on the experience gained through the operation of HTR and knowledge of hydrogen production processes acquired in the previous H2020 project GEMINI+. The project aims to demonstrate that the GEMINI+ system can\, in addition to CO2 free process heat\, provide a global solution for the competitive and safe decarbonisation of industrial activities\, and confirm that this new form of poly-generation of various energy products does not negatively affect the safety of the combined plant.\nPIANOFORTE (Partnership for european research in radiation protection and detection of ionising radiation : towards a safer use and improved protection of the environment and human health) contributes to improving the protection of the public\, workers\, patients and the environment from environmental\, occupational and medical exposure to ionising radiation. By establishing a comprehensive pan-European scientific and technological foundation\, PIANOFORTE aims to support a robust radiological protection system and to develop consolidated\, science-based policy recommendations for decision-makers across diverse sectors that utilise ionising radiation\, both energy and non-energy related.\n\nThroughout the webinar\, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the SNETP community\, ask questions\, and share insights on the future of nuclear in Europe.
