On 28 July 2021, the European Commission launched the Nuclear Innovation Prize that aims to reward innovation in the nuclear field. The prize has two categories: safety of reactor systems and radioactive waste management. Researchers, research teams and innovators or companies can submit an application concerning any technological innovation in one of these two areas via the EU Funding and Tender opportunities portal.
The Nuclear Innovation Prize will be awarded at the next Euratom Research and Training Conference in Safety of Reactor Systems (FISA 2022) and Radioactive Waste Management (EURADWASTE’22). The deadline to submit applications has been extended until 15 December 2021.
